EN 10305-1 — Steel tubes for precision applications. Part 1: Seamless cold drawn tubes
Last updated
Scope
Technical delivery conditions for seamless cold drawn precision steel tubes: grades E215, E235, E275, E355 and E470, in the delivery conditions +C (as drawn), +LC (lightly annealed), +SR (stress relieved annealed), +A (annealed) and +N (normalised). Specifies composition, mechanical properties by delivery condition, close dimensional and wall tolerances, straightness, surface finish and inside and outside roughness. The grade designation E followed by a number is the minimum yield strength in MPa in the normalised (+N) condition — E355+N is ReH 355 min, Rm 490-630, the same levels as S355. In the cold-finished conditions the tensile strength is far higher (E355+C is Rm 640 min) and the standard does not always state a yield value for them, which is the point most often misread. Welded precision tubes are in Parts 2 and 3, hydraulic cylinder tubes in Part 4, and tubes for mechanical and general engineering in EN 10297-1.
