EN 10089 — Hot rolled steels for quenched and tempered springs. Technical delivery conditions
Last updated
Scope
Technical delivery conditions for hot-rolled bars, flats and coils in spring steels intended to be quenched and tempered after forming: the silicon grades (38Si7, 46Si7, 56Si7), the chromium grades (55Cr3, 60Cr3), the chromium-vanadium and chromium-molybdenum grades (51CrV4, 52CrMoV4, 51CrMoV4) and the silicon-chromium grades (54SiCr6, 56SiCr7, 61SiCr7, 60SiCr7, 45SiCrMo6, 60SiCrV7). Fixes chemical composition, delivery conditions (+AR, +A, +QT), hardenability where agreed, surface decarburisation limits, surface quality and inspection documents. It does not specify the mechanical properties of the finished spring — those are produced by the spring maker after forming.
